It’s kind of like a crusade in its own way,” she said. “Me embodying the position that I’m analyzing is the very thing that makes it so powerful.
Frank talk with Lady Gaga, Latimes.com
I love her music. She’s incredibly talented. Poker Face still does it for me, and I can’t wait to keep hearing her stuff.
But this interview is full of unbelievably pompous quotes. She’s an attractive woman who belts the shit out of dance songs, has great producers, and has a coherent image. It’s called pop music. It’s not genius, and it’s not a feminist movement—it’s a costume.

She’s kidding, right? Has she seen Lady Gaga? Or seen her music videos? (Weirdly, all the Poker Face videos are currently private, but here’s a live rendition.)
And, yoohoo—the album is called Fame Monster. She’s calling herself a monster. It’s called marketing.
“I don’t make it as a defense. I make it as, OK, guys, it’s been two years, and I’ve made a lot of music, and I know my greatness is individual. And I want every woman to be able to say that.” (emphasis mine)
Come. On.
Love the music, hate this article.
